ABOUT US

The Initiative for Humanitarian Value and Mercy (IHVM) is a non
profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) established to provide
comprehensive humanitarian aid, with a particular focus on
vulnerable and displaced communities. Rooted in Islamic values of
compassion, mercy, and justice, IHVM works to alleviate human
suffering, support education, and promote long-term
empowerment.

Since its inception, IHVM has been dedicated to creating sustainable
and impactful interventions that address both immediate needs and
long-term recovery, particularly in regions facing crises, poverty, and
displacement. Our holistic approach ensures that individuals not
only receive the care and resources they need but also gain the tools
to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

Vision:
To build a world where compassion, dignity, and opportunity are
extended to all, ensuring that even the most marginalized
communities can thrive.

Mission:
To deliver sustainable humanitarian aid, promote education, and
provide spiritual and emotional support, with a focus on uplifting
internally displaced persons (IDPs), the needy, and vulnerable
populations.

Core Areas of Focus:

  1. Humanitarian Aid & Relief: Responding swiftly to the needs of
displaced persons and impoverished communities through the
provision of food, clean water, and financial support.
  2. Islamic Education & Spiritual Support:Offering access to qualified
Islamic teachers and educational resources, ensuring continuity of
religious and moral education for those affected by crisis.
  3. Community Empowerment: Supporting long-term growth through
    educational scholarships, infrastructural development, and
    vocational training.
  4. Seasonal and Special Occasion Assistance: Providing special aid
packages during festive periods such as Sallah, distributing meat,
foodstuffs, and other essentials to the needy.

Key Initiatives and Impact:

  1. Supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs):
IHVM has made significant strides in supporting IDPs at various
camps across Nigeria. Understanding the unique challenges faced by
displaced families, our efforts include:- Provision of Islamic Teachers:
IHVM provides Islamic scholars and teachers to IDP camps, ensuring
that displaced children and adults have access to religious
education. These teachers offer lessons on the Qur’an, Fiqh, and
Islamic ethics, helping to preserve the spiritual well-being of those in
distress.- Food and Cash Donations: IHVM regularly organizes food
distribution programs and financial aid initiatives to alleviate hunger
and poverty among IDPs. Our donations have supported thousands
of displaced families, providing them with essential food items and
cash support to meet their basic needs.
  2. Sallah Celebrations for the Needy:
Every year, during the Islamic festivals of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr,
IHVM spearheads large-scale food and meat distribution efforts. By
providing meat, foodstuffs, and other essentials to the needy and
vulnerable during these occasions, IHVM ensures that even those
struggling financially can partake in the joy and spirit of Sallah
    celebrations.
  3. Infrastructure Development:- Borehole Construction:
IHVM understands the importance of clean water for vulnerable
communities. In response to the need for reliable water sources,
the organization has constructed boreholes in rural and
underserved areas. These water projects not only improve
sanitation and health but also reduce the burden on women and
children, who often spend hours fetching water.
  4. Educational Scholarships and Support:
Believing that education is the cornerstone of empowerment, IHVM
has invested in the future of children from needy families by
funding their education at different levels, both in Nigeria and
abroad. Through these scholarships, IHVM is helping to break the
cycle of poverty and giving children the opportunity to build
    successful futures.

Scholarships for Needy Children:
IHVM has facilitated scholarships for children of vulnerable families,
enabling them to attend schools across Nigeria and other countries.
These scholarships cover tuition, learning materials, and other
educational needs, ensuring that no child is left behind due to
financial constraints.

Our Track Record: Over the years, IHVM has provided regular food and financial
support to thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in
camps across Nigeria. Distributed large quantities of foodstuffs, meat, and other
essentials during Sallah celebrations, bringing relief and joy to
needy families.

  • Constructed boreholes in rural areas, ensuring clean and
sustainable water sources for underserved communities.
  • Funded educational scholarships for numerous children from
disadvantaged backgrounds, both within Nigeria and
    internationally.
